Capoeira is a martial art that originated in colonial Brazil, a fusion of combat, dance, play and acrobatics. Capoeiraskolen Senzala has been teaching capoeira since 1991, and now we offer classes for children and adults in Køge Nord Sport Center.
The children are invited into the magical universe and history of capoeira, through a teaching that alternates between play and focused, concrete learning. Individually and in pair exercises, we train capoeira elements such as fighting, dance, acrobatics, singing and music.
The training builds the children's strength, mobility, motor skills and creativity, as well as the joy of feeling our shared power and joy of life when we dare to express our imperfect, beautiful personalities through capoeira.
For the classes, which are available to everyone regardless of age and physical ability, we train the aesthetics of dance, the power of fighting, the beauty of singing and music, and the life-affirming playfulness of street acrobatics.
The body becomes stronger, more flexible, motor skills and musicality are strengthened. The love for Brazilian culture, mutual respect, the value of our differences as well as lots of sweat on the forehead and smiles on the lips are the cornerstones of the teaching.
It is possible to get a free trial lesson, just show up to one of our classes.
If you want to train regularly after the trial class, you must sign up and pay the membership fee for the rest of the current membership period, as well as a registration fee of DKK 100.
Payment of dues is made with MobilePay or in cash at the beginning of each month.
